Sonikete - The gentle one with the strong soul
Four years ago, I came across an advert on Facebook that blew my mind. A 25-year-old gelding was offered – in poor condition, physically and mentally at the limit. The description said: ‘to be ridden by anyone.’

The videos I was then sent took my breath away. A broken horse, used, exploited – and yet somehow still there.
I didn’t hesitate for a second. With the help of friends, I brought Sonikete from Jerez de la Frontera to Mallorca. A long journey – and the start of a new life.
Today Sonikete is 29 years old. And one of the favourite horses I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. He has so much gentleness in him, so much dignity – despite everything that has happened. It is a gift to have him here.
